Authorized Organizations & Clone Users

The purpose of this process is to manage access between the Genesys Cloud home org, which is the DEV org maximuscanada-dev, and trustor orgs, so admins can traverse between authorized organizations and perform configuration or validation work.

  1. Log in to the Genesys Cloud DEV org
  2. Go to User Management > Authorized Organizations
  3. Select the “Access to other orgs” tab
  4. Select the target trustor org
  5. From the selected org page, you can add a new person or group. If you add a person, that user appears under the user tab. If you add a group, it appears under the group tab. If you need to clone a user, you must add the user first or include the user in a group
  6. Confirm the required groups are present. The required groups must be set up so users can traverse through the different orgs
  1. Switch to the trustor org to validate the pairing. Navigate again to User Management > Authorized Organizations
  2. Check the “Access to my organisation” tab. Under this tab, verify that Maximus Canada DEV appears
  3. Configure roles delegated for that specific group
  1. Log in using the DEV org
  2. At “Choose your organisation”, do not select DEV if you want to traverse. Select one of the authorized orgs listed
  3. After entering the target org, confirm that the purple banner appears at the top stating that you are viewing the target org
  4. Once inside the authorized org, you can perform the required configuration checks or updates for that org

Logging in through DEV doesn’t have the ability to answer calls.

There is a restriction of five users for cloning. Cloned users can answer calls

  1. Go to User Management > Authorized Organizations > Access to other orgs > Select org
  2. In the target org configuration area, locate the field Clone Users
  3. Add the user to be cloned
  1. Log directly into the target org
  2. After login, verify that the banner states you are viewing the target org.

You have now successfully cloned your user and have accessed a client org!

Cloned users retain the roles that were set from the home org.

If specific roles are needed after cloning, you can go into the user profile and add roles there (using your DEV admin account).

If you need to place test calls, you will need to create a WebRTC phone. With your DEV admin account, use this WebRTC Tool to expedite your process.
