Organization vs Divisions

These exist once per tenant and cannot be scoped to a division.

  • Organization (tenant)
  • Region (for example, Americas - Canada)
  • Billing and subscriptions (CX, WEM, add-ons)
  • Authorized organizations (cross-org access)
  • Org-level administrator roles
  • User directory (users exist at the org level)
  • Authentication and SSO (Entra ID, MFA)
  • OAuth clients
  • API rate limits
  • Compliance posture (PCI, PII, security baseline)
  • Analytics data store
  • Historical and real-time analytics engines
  • Speech and text analytics processing
  • Data exports and APIs (including Snowflake integrations)

Note: Divisions are used for filtering and access control, not hard data isolation.

  • Architect application (tool itself)
  • Integrations framework
  • Knowledge fabric connectors
  • CI/CD and automation endpoints

These can be assigned to divisions and are governed by role and division access.

  • User home division
  • User assigned divisions
  • Role assignments scoped by division
  • Visibility of configuration objects
  • Queues
  • Skills
  • Wrap-up codes
  • Routing profiles
  • DNIS / DID logic
  • Inbound call flows
  • Digital and bot flows
  • Secure call flows
  • Task and workflow objects
  • Planning groups
  • Schedules
  • Time-off rules
  • Adherence views
  • Performance dashboards
  • Outbound campaigns
  • Contact lists
  • Sequences
  • Outbound schedules
  • Knowledge articles
  • Article visibility
  • Category access
  • Reporting engines are organization-wide, but results are filtered by division.
  • Speech and text analytics are processed organization-wide and tagged by division.
  • Sequences may intentionally span multiple divisions.
  • Org admins can bypass division restrictions.
  • Organization = legal boundary, billing, identity, analytics platform
  • Division = access control, environment separation, program or client isolation

This model supports DEV/BAT/PRD environments, shared‑service platforms, and multi‑client or multi‑program operations within a single Genesys Cloud tenant.
